Benchmade 710 – Get the High End Quality Folding Knife

The Benchmade 710 was designed by custom knife makers Bill McHenry and Jason Williams. It is the end product of their hard work over the path of 4 years. The popular AXIS lock allows for comfortable one-handed opening and closing of the blade without your fingers ever being in the path of the blade. The lock was also designed by Bill and Jason. The lock design is easy to manage without instructions needed on how the knife works.

Simpleness of the lock is not the biggest selling point, its brute strength is. Through testing, the lock withstood a weight of over 200 pounds without damage. In testing, the lock finally failed

after applying more force. The liners merely cracked over the locking pin but never the blade closed on the users hand.

The locking system has two Omega shaped springs. This feature provides excellent functional redundancy. The springs are lightly pressured and tests demonstrate they should last indefinitely. In tests, when one of the springs failed, the other was still operating the knife without problems.

It is difficult to say if this really is the strongest lock made in folding knives. The maker states the Benchmade 710 is more strong than any other knives on market. For improved cutting ability, the sizable 3.9” blade of the Benchmade 710 features a reverse-curve grind.

On the butt end of the knife, there is a removable stainless steel pocket clip. The design of the locking system is the reason why the clip is placed on the butt end. Positioning the clip on the pivot end would push the knife to protrude much far out the pocket.

Belt clip feels natural in hand and is reversible. I use my 710 Benchmade for everything, cutting paper and cardboard, opening packages and envelopes, cutting string, heavy duty plastic box straps, cutting into the occasional snack, etc. and it holds its edge.
